Data Engineer
The Opportunity:
Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there's more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. Given the expansion of big data analytics, new challenges are emerging for the integration of data sets. As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions-from cyber risk identification to acquisition programs to DOW mission decomposition.
As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
Here, you'll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

You Have:
  • 4+ years of experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Databricks
  • 2+ years of experience with data engineering and analytics, delivering actionable insights and performance metrics
  • 2+ years of experience working within the Maven Smart System (MSS), developing or supporting mission-focused data workflows, applications, and analytic capabilities
  • Experience integrating, transforming, and validating data from multiple structured and semi-structured sources using APIs, SQL, and modern data engineering practices
  • Experience developing scalable data pipelines, data models, and data products that support operational planning, analytics, and executive decision-making
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets while ensuring data quality, performance, and reliability
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to technical teams, operators and executive stakeholders
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience using DoD data platforms such as Advana and Qlik for data integration, ingestion, and visualization
  • Experience with the Defense Acquisition Visibility Environment (DAVE)
  • Experience documenting data analytics processes and maintaining reproducible analytic methods
  • Experience engaging data owners to establish sharing agreements that enable the establishment of data pipelines
  • Experience applying machine learning or natural language processing to operational or intelligence data
  • Experience with DoD and Intelligence Community data ecosystems and collaboration with interagency partners
  • Experience developing data governance frameworks and standards
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity data and analytics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
