Overview
STN is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and support of our mission-critical data center environment in Chicago, Illinois. You'll work hands-on with hardware, cabling, monitoring systems, and server infrastructure, while collaborating with IT engineers to deliver reliable and secure services to our organization and customers.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead rack-and-stack of GPU servers, switches, and storage at colocation and modular data center sites Cable compute, storage, and high-speed networking (InfiniBand and high-speed Ethernet) per the approved design
  • Power on, configure BMC/iLO/iDRAC, and execute firmware/BIOS bring-up
  • Run burn-in tests including memory, GPU stress, NCCL, and benchmark sweeps
  • Coordinate with NOC and Platform Engineering on cluster bring-up and acceptance
  • Execute customer acceptance testing (CAT) procedures and document results
  • Maintain asset records, cable maps, rack elevations, and DCIM documentation
  • Troubleshoot hardware, power, and physical-layer issues
  • Manage RMA execution on site including swap-out, diagnostics, and return paperwork
  • Travel to assigned data center sites including the Odessa, TX modular data center buildout

Experience & Qualifications
โ€ข 4+ years in data center field engineering, deployment engineering, or systems integration
โ€ข Strong hands-on hardware experience with servers, top-of-rack switches, and storage
โ€ข Proficiency with structured cabling, power distribution, and DCIM tools
โ€ข Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
โ€ข Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work standing or in confined spaces in a data center environment
Preferred
โ€ข NVIDIA HGX or DGX deployment experience
โ€ข InfiniBand or 400G/800G Ethernet cabling experience
โ€ข CDCP, BICSI, or equivalent certification
โ€ข Experience with modular data center (MDC) deploymentsCompensation
