Job description

Realta Fusion is developing scalable magnetic mirror fusion technology to deliver a practical and economically competitive source of clean energy. We are seeking an Information Technology Manager to oversee and support the company's internal IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor management as we continue to scale.

This role will serve as the primary internal IT lead and partner closely with our third-party IT provider to ensure employees have reliable, secure, and efficient technology systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, service-oriented, and excited to build scalable IT processes within a growing startup environment.

Realta Fusion is a rapidly growing start-up developing compact magnetic mirror fusion energy systems to address the biggest challenge of our time -tackling global climate change while ensuring a sufficient energy supply for at least ten billion people on (and off) earth. We are building a team with diverse talents dedicated to making fusion energy a real solution to humanity's most pressing problem.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day IT operations and employee technology support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the company's third-party IT provider and external vendors
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup, account management, and system access
  • Support and maintain company hardware, software, networks, collaboration tools, and cloud-based systems
  • Help develop and implement IT policies, cybersecurity practices, and data protection standards
  • Monitor IT infrastructure, security, and system performance to ensure operational reliability
  • Manage software licensing, IT inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships
  • Partner with leadership to support future IT planning, scaling, and operational improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or technical support
  • Experience managing IT vendors and supporting growing organizations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, networking, endpoint management, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting engineering, laboratory, or technical R&D environments
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance practices
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, SaaS administration, and identity/access management systems
