Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Security Engineer (SSE) - P4 to join the SSE Sensors, Space, & Air department. The team member will apply their technical knowledge and expertise in the fields of Anti-Tamper and embedded Cybersecurity to ensure secure products are delivered to the end-user. The SSE will be responsible for individual and team leadership contributions to execute program deliverables and milestones, including communications and briefings with internal stakeholders, leadership, and external customers. The candidate will follow the Raytheon Systems Engineering processes to develop, design, integrate, test, and evaluate security solutions within embedded systems. Must be able to work independently and be a motivated self-starter. The individual must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance and work in classified areas, with up to 25% travel required. This is an onsite position at Raytheon in Goleta, CA.

What You Will Do

  • Perform Critical Program Information (CPI) analysis

  • Perform SSE requirements generation, derivation, decomposition, and analysis

  • Perform and document SSE trade-studies and provide path forward recommendations

  • Generate systems engineering modeling and artifacts, including functional block, sequence, and activity diagrams

  • Develop the program Anti-Tamper Plan

  • Develop and execute Verification and Validation (V&V) Plans and Procedures

  • Present in internal and external customer reviews and program milestones

  • Report tasking status and communications with program and functional leadership

  • Travel up to 25% as necessary

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience in the development, design, and/or implementation of embedded security products and technologies

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Critical Program Information (CPI) analysis

  • Experience with the Anti-Tamper Engineering Framework (ATEF)

  • Familiarity with DoD Instruction 8510.01 Risk Management Framework for DoD Systems

  • Experience with Defense-Grade and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf security devices and components

  • Experience with engineering team leadership

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
