Job Title: Watch Team Analyst

Job Description
As a member of the Operations Watch Team, this role provides 24x7x365 real-time analysis of events and incidents on the Clients' Enterprise Network. The position serves as a team consultant to the Operations Watch Officer, using IT service management tools to monitor, detect, and take immediate action on network events to ensure mission readiness.
The Candidate shall use Event Management Tools, BMC Remedy, SharePoint, and Service Operations tools to perform this task. The candidate will be expected to perform troubleshooting to support networking, servers, and applications incident support. The candidate will be expected to create Daily Turnover Logs entry in accordance with SOPs.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor, detect, and take immediate action on events and incidents as they occur on the network.
  • Identify problems and take appropriate actions based on Operations Watch Team operating procedures.
  • Create formal reports and assign work requests to the proper group.
  • Collect and analyze events and incidents from multiple sources, correlating information between IT management tools.
  • Advise the Operations Officer on the best business processes to achieve desired results.
  • Manage, track, and file all information that the Client receives and produces.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of on-demand Situation Reports.
  • Create a Daily Turnover Log entry in accordance with Watch SOPs.
  • Serve as an action officer with knowledge of Cyber Incident response, event management, incident management, and change management.
  • Organize all client data based on team procedures.
  • Filer information quickly and easily to gain important information necessary for the Client to make decisions.
  • Provide Watch Team reports as needed.
  • Provide Executive level Watch Team briefings on behalf of the client.

Education and Background
  • Required Certifications: IAM Level I (CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, or Security+ CE, HCISPP)
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience working on an operations staff, assisting the Watch Team Lead in gathering information, tracking incidents, and assisting with reports as required.
  • Background in IT business processes and cyber incident response.

Working Conditions
  • Environmental Conditions: General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
  • Strength Demands: 10 lbs. maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles.
  • Physical Requirements: Occasionally required to stand; frequently required to walk and sit. Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. Continually required to talk or hear. Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
