Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI and SAP/SAR

Program Overview

Air Combat Command’s Combat Air Forces Distributed Training Center (CAF DTC) at Langley AFB, VA.  Daily, the CAF DTC provides world-class integration training in large force and small team formats to combat units around the globe against cutting-edge threats in a boundless virtual battle space.

Position Summary

The Level 2 Cyber Systems Administrator supports enterprise IT infrastructure, virtualization environments, and mission-critical network systems. This role focuses on daily operations, system sustainment, patching, troubleshooting, and supporting distributed mission training environments in a high-tempo defense setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and perform health checks on enterprise network and system infrastructure
  • Provide daily operations support, system maintenance, patching, and ticket resolution
  • Support incident response, troubleshooting, escalation, and technical reporting
  • Assist with configuration, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise systems
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on engineering support activities
  • Support cybersecurity compliance validation and system assessment efforts
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and system procedures
  • Contribute to process improvements and system optimization initiatives

Required Education, Certification, Clearance & Technology

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline)
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI and SAP/SAR access
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification required within 6 months (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CISSP)

Required Technology Experience:

  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM): application packaging, deployment, OS imaging, task sequencing, patch management, compliance baselines, client/server troubleshooting
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS): configuration, maintenance, synchronization, approval workflows, troubleshooting, MECM integration
  • VMware vSphere/ESXi: VM provisioning, resource allocation, snapshots, performance monitoring, HA/DRS concepts, virtual networking
  • Windows Server 2016–2025 and Windows 11 administration
  • Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy (GPOs), file and print services
  • PowerShell and Bash scripting
  • Monitoring tools and log analysis platforms
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale IT environments

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience (Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years)

Preferred Qualifications

  • PKI / Certificate Services (ADCS, SSL/TLS, certificate lifecycle management)
  • Ansible automation and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Microsoft Exchange (on-premises or hybrid environments)
  • CI/CD or automation pipeline exposure
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
