Job Summary

The OT Infrastructure Specialist collaborates with the organization's Operations Technology (OT) teams to develop and support infrastructure solutions; maintains close working relationships with vendors to ensure compliance with the organization's hardware or communications standards and monitor costs closely; and continuously analyzes the organization's current OT processes, technology, and vendors to identify areas of improvement.

Additionally, this role will support Industrial IoT (IIoT), telemetry, and edge communication architectures, including technologies such as MOXA devices, CAN Bus, Modbus protocols, and intelligent data acquisition systems, while leveraging Python and AI-driven analytics to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and visibility across OT environments.

The position will also evaluate, pilot, and implement emerging OT, IoT, edge computing, automation, AI, and industrial connectivity solutions as business needs evolve. Success in this role requires the ability to rapidly learn new technologies, adapt to changing operational requirements, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement are highly valued.


Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and support industrial and IoT infrastructure solutions, including communication networks leveraging MOXA hardware and edge devices

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial protocols such as Modbus (RTU/TCP), CAN Bus, and related field communications

  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation, telemetry processing, and monitoring tools

  • Support and optimize telemetry systems, SCADA environments, and remote data acquisition platforms

  • Integrate and maintain Industrial IoT (IIoT) architectures, including sensors, edge computing, and cloud-connected systems

  • Ensure reliable, secure data flow from edge to enterprise systems, including data validation and normalization

  • Apply AI/ML techniques to improve operational performance, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and vendors to enhance real-time visibility, analytics, and system performance

  • Evaluate and implement emerging OT/IoT technologies aligned with business strategy

  • Maintain cybersecurity, compliance, and OT standards, including policies, procedures, and HSE requirements


Job Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' of relevant experience, preferred

  • Experience managing mid to large IT related projects, preferred

  • Experience in oil and gas service industry, preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented mindset

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Azure

  • Experience with MOXA networking hardware (industrial switches, serial gateways, edge connectivity devices)

  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols, including Modbus (RTU/TCP), CAN Bus, OPC, and MQTT

  • Experience with Python programming for automation, scripting, and data processing

  • Familiarity with telemetry systems, SCADA integration, and remote monitoring solutions

  • Working knowledge of Industrial IoT (IIoT) architectures and edge computing

  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and their application in industrial or telemetry environments is a plus

  • Experience integrating OT data into cloud or enterprise systems (Azure IoT, data lakes, etc.)

  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles in OT/IoT environments

  • Experience with data acquisition systems, sensors, and field instrumentation
