Job description

Cybersecurity Operations Lead Our client seeks a Cybersecurity Operations Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership across cybersecurity architecture, engineering, and security operations. The role strengthens enterprise security posture, reduces organizational risk, and leads implementation and optimization of security tools, technologies, and Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation capabilities. The position is not program management only and requires deep technical expertise and active involvement in architecture, engineering, threat detection, vulnerability management, and security tool integration. Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Public Trust clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. Location: 1775 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314
Schedule: Hybrid, 2-3 days per week on-site in Alexandria, VA. The first 30 days of work will be full-time on-site
Duration: 12 months Contract to Hire Responsibilities
โ€ข Lead cybersecurity architecture, engineering, and security operations initiatives across enterprise environments.
โ€ข Design, implement, integrate, and optimize security technologies to improve visibility, threat detection, incident response, and cyber resilience.
โ€ข Support and lead implementation of Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation capabilities, including establishing security baselines and ensuring proper tool configuration.
โ€ข Architect, deploy, maintain, and enhance cybersecurity products and services.
โ€ข Provide cybersecurity engineering expertise to enterprise architecture teams, technical review boards, infrastructure teams, and application development efforts.
โ€ข Ensure security requirements are incorporated throughout the System Development Life Cycle.
โ€ข Identify, assess, and remediate security misconfigurations across infrastructure, applications, and cloud and on-prem environments.
โ€ข Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, system security designs, engineering plans, and network security diagrams.
โ€ข Manage the aggregation, correlation, and visualization of cybersecurity data from enterprise and federal security platforms.
โ€ข Lead integration and automation efforts between security operations, monitoring, incident response, and cybersecurity tools.
โ€ข Oversee vulnerability management, asset management, configuration management, identity and access management, and continuous monitoring activities.
โ€ข Support implementation and management of controls for boundary protection, event monitoring, data protection, data loss prevention, user activity monitoring, and supply chain risk management.
โ€ข Collaborate with stakeholders to improve security operations, threat detection, and incident response capabilities.
โ€ข Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies, federal cybersecurity initiatives, and evolving compliance requirements.
Experience Requirements
โ€ข Minimum 10 years of cybersecurity experience across security operations, security engineering, cybersecurity architecture, penetration testing, and threat detection and incident response.
โ€ข Minimum 5 years of experience managing and leading cybersecurity operations teams.
โ€ข Proven experience leading enterprise cybersecurity programs and implementing security technologies in complex environments.
โ€ข Experience with Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation initiatives strongly preferred.
โ€ข Required certifications: CISSP-ISSMP and CISSP-ISSAP.
โ€ข Security requirements: U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Education Requirements
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
