MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Junior Security Analyst located in Milwaukee, WI. Our client is a Financial Services industry leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability.
Role Summary:
(CyberSecurity Engineer) We’re seeking an eager, detail-oriented consultant to assist our Cybersecurity Engineering team in enabling and optimizing security and compliance controls for Copilot for Microsoft 365. You’ll assist in the configuration, testing, documentation, and operationalization of controls across Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 workloads to ensure Copilot operates safely, aligns with data protection requirements, and supports business productivity. This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in M365 security/compliance who is eager to learn hands-on, implement guardrails, and help drive controlled rollout at scale.

While the above is the primary driver, our Team is responsible for Email and SaaS security at large and the expectation is this role will support operational tasks in these areas as well.

Lastly, the candidate for this role should arrive with a developer mindset always searching for automation opportunities. We are not a software development team. But, we recognize efficiency through automation is a priority moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with readiness assessments for Microsoft Purview Information Protection, DLP, eDiscovery, Insider Risk, Communication Compliance, and related SharePoint/Teams governance.
  • Assist in developing processes to address security configuration gaps with an eye towards continuous improvement and automated secure by default guardrails; independent research, analysis, and solution development and validation is expected.
  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve service incidents, integration issues and technology disruptions for the breadth of the Team's Security Solutions
    • Stakeholders include - internal lead engineers, enterprise-wide technology users, service desk technicians, IT Platform engineering & ops teams, partner cybersecurity teams, and vendor support.
    • Solutions include - SaaS Security Posture Management, Email SEG, CASB
  • Provide detailed documentation to ensure transfer of knowledge to the organic Client team.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced education in information systems, software engineering, computer science, systems engineering or cybersecurity. Education comes in various forms: Degrees, certifications, traditional 4 year college and technical institutes, life/work experiences. 
  • 2-5 years of experience in information technology with more than just a familiarity in cybersecurity
  • 1–2 years hands‑on with Microsoft 365 security/compliance features (basic experience acceptable); familiarity with Microsoft Purview concepts—DLP, sensitivity labels, retention, audit.
  • Experience in multiple platforms and environments - Windows, Mac, & Linux, workstation &server, physical, virtual, & cloud
  • Understanding of a wide-range of cybersecurity capabilities including security engineering, identify & access management, incident response, logging & monitoring, penetration testing, and vulnerability management
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills
  • Working knowledge of Security Frameworks (NIST, MITRE, CIS Benchmarks, etc) with preference towards practical application at the operations and engineering level

  • Location: Milwaukee WI 53202 (Hybrid)
  • Schedule: Standard business working hours in morning shift Monday - Friday (8hrs a day and 40 hrs per week)
