Position Announcement
Computer Operating Systems, Networking and Cybersecurity Instructor - Dual Enrollment
Columbia Central High School
TCAT Pulaski is accepting applications for the full-time, 10-month position of Computer Operating Systems, Networking and Cybersecurity Instructor to be located at Columbia Central High School for Dual Enrollment CTE students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum one (1) years of successful experience in information technology & security within the last three (3) years.

  • Post-secondary Diploma or equivalent in Information Technology or related field required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Microsoft certifications are preferred.

  • A.S. or B.S. Degree preferred.

  • Prior teaching experience preferred.

SKILLS
  • Possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with high school CTE students as well as faculty, staff, the public, and business/industry representatives.

  • Must be willing to learn and use classroom management best practices and individualized instructional techniques.

  • Must be willing to remain current in the Information Technology profession.

  • Possess a high degree of knowledge with a strong hands-on technical background in network administration, PC hardware, systems analysis, and software.

GENERAL DUTIES:
  • Provide theory and hands-on skills instruction to high school CTE students in areas including, but not limited to, troubleshooting, system architecture and protocols, software applications, hardware assembly and repair, backup strategies, networking and configuring computers, and related peripheral devices.

  • Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual CTE students' performance and progress; maintain appropriate records; prepare and submit timely reports.

  • Participate in in-service training, workshops, and other programs for professional growth.

  • Participate in student organizations (SkillsUSA, etc.).

  • Maintain a well-organized, safe, and clean lab and/or classroom.

  • Be responsible for equipment and supplies assigned to the lab and/or classroom.

  • Supervise and follow-up on CTE students participating in Work-Based Activities.

  • Teach the Work Ethics curriculum.

  • Evidence of potential teaching ability.

  • Perform other duties as directed and assigned by the administration.

SALARY:
In accordance with guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents and the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology.
