Job description

Cyber Security Auditor
Stellar Science seeks a detail-oriented Cyber Security Auditor to assess and strengthen IT infrastructure, security controls, and compliance programs in a fast-paced software development environment supporting government security standards. This on-site role is based in Albuquerque, NM.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct security audits, risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration test oversight
• Ensure compliance with NIST, CMMC 2.0, RMF, JSIG, and related security frameworks
• Evaluate firewalls, data protection mechanisms, and other security controls
• Prepare audit reports with remediation recommendations
• Analyze system logs utilizing a variety of cybersecurity tools such as Wazuh, Elastic Stack, Splunk, Graylog
• Support cybersecurity awareness and best practices across the company
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years in IT auditing or security engineering
• Experience with cybersecurity tools, compliance frameworks, and risk analysis
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering and cyber teams
• Some or all certifications: CISA, CISSP, CISM, DoD 8140/8570 IAT/M Level III
• U.S. citizen willing to undergo background investigation and perform some work at government or customer sites
Desired Skills
• Linux/Windows infrastructure and cloud security experience (AWS/Azure)
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and secure software development practices
