Job description

The Senior Cloud Architect is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of secure, high-performance cloud service solutions across the enterprise. This role ensures that cloud architecture meets the business needs for scalability, resiliency, and cybersecurity while integrating with on-premises and hybrid environments. The Senior Cloud Architect also manages the provisioning of WAN circuits and commercial internet access to support enterprise connectivity and performance objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and deployment of cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) across multiple platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Architect secure and scalable solutions that meet enterprise performance and cybersecurity standards.
  • Oversee configuration and management of WAN circuits and commercial internet access to ensure optimal connectivity and redundancy.
  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless cloud integration.
  • Define cloud governance frameworks, automation strategies, and cost optimization models.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering and operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and best practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen - Able to obtain a Public Trust.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 4 years focused on cloud architecture and design.
  • Hands-on experience managing WAN circuits, commercial internet connections, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and deliver enterprise-grade cloud solution.

Certifications (at least one preferred):
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or higher.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Google Cloud Certification - Associate certification or higher.
  • CompTIA Cloud+.
