What is a cyber security analyst tier 2?

Cyber Security Analyst Tier 2 professionals are responsible for handling more complex security incidents that have been escalated from Tier 1 analysts. Their duties include analyzing and responding to security alerts, investigating threats, performing root cause analysis, and recommending mitigation strategies. They also assist in developing and implementing security policies, monitor network activity for unusual behavior, and may work with incident response teams during security breaches. Tier 2 analysts typically possess a deeper technical understanding and experience with security tools compared to Tier 1 analysts.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a cyber security analyst tier 2?

To thrive as a Cyber Security Analyst Tier 2, you need in-depth knowledge of network security, threat analysis, incident response, and typically a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
