About The Role
The Cyber Operations Analyst manages incoming security incidents and works within the Security Operations team and Enterprise Security & Risk Management to provide post-incident remediation activities.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze incoming security events based on different data points, networks, endpoints, and log sources expediently, consistently, and accurately. Leverage internal documentation and system/application owners to identify correlations in the company's environment to determine if behavior is expected.
  • Prioritize medium to complex incoming events based on SLO (Service Level Object) determined by business using own expertise and judgement. Escalates issues as needed.
  • Support complex investigations within areas of expertise and leverage security knowledge to engage the other experts within other disciplines to resolve matters appropriately.
  • Prioritize task work according to understood and implied priorities
  • Conduct quality reviews on incoming and outgoing tickets, security engagements, and at a system level looking for areas of improvement. Provide recommendations to management based on findings.
  • Exercise security expertise using the development platform to elevate more precise signal with minimal noise.

About You
You have a foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts and a strong interest in security operations. You're curious, analytical, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy solving problems, investigating issues, and communicating your findings clearly and effectively.
What You'll Bring:
  • Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of macOS and Windows operating systems.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and basic firewall concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and cloud-based services.
  • Understanding of core cybersecurity principles and security fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) and their role in threat detection.
  • Ability to distinguish between critical and non-critical security events.
  • General awareness of how Agentic AI is leveraged within a Security Operations Center (SOC).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical and non-technical information.
  • Analytical thinker who uses logic and sound judgment to investigate issues, identify root causes, and uncover potential risks.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to look beyond the obvious when evaluating security events and alerts.

Qualifications
  • University degree, college diploma, industry certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant cybersecurity, IT, or security operations experience.
  • Basic understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain and/or MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • Understanding of the incident response lifecycle and key response activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for cybersecurity and a desire to build a career in security operations.

The base salary range for this job family is 63,000 to 240,000 USD annually. This range reflects the base pay the company reasonably expects to offer for this position, aligned to the broader job family base pay structure. Actual base pay may vary based on skills, experience, and location, including job family level. In addition to base pay, Arctic Wolf offers variable incentive compensation, new hire equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
