Strategic Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, Assistant Vice President
State Street is seeking a Strategic Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst to identify, assess, and communicate cyber threats emerging from the intersection of geopolitics, emerging technologies, and the evolving global threat landscape. As part of the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) program, this role will conduct all-source intelligence analysis to help State Street anticipate and respond to threats affecting the financial sector, key dependencies, and our global operations. Key focus areas of the Strategic CTI Team include nation-state activity, cybercrime, geopolitical developments, and technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud platforms, digital assets, and quantum computing. The successful candidate will transform complex intelligence into actionable insights that drive operational decision-making, cyber defense, and executive awareness. Responsibilities include tracking adversary capabilities and intent, informing assessment of the business and operational impact of cyber threats, producing timely intelligence products, and delivering briefings to technical and executive audiences. The role requires the ability to connect global events and technological change to tangible risks facing State Street and the broader financial sector.

We are seeking a forward-looking analyst with strong critical-thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for understanding how cyber threats evolve in response to geopolitical and technological change. The ideal candidate will operate across the full intelligence lifecycle, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and help develop innovative analytic capabilities that strengthen State Street's threat-informed decision-making and fusion operations.
What will you be responsible for:
  • Leading Strategic CTI analysis for a key geographic or functional intelligence issue
  • Collecting requirements from stakeholders and conducting research and analysis to provide timely and actionable intelligence that drives and informs the security posture of the bank.
  • Analyzing and understanding advanced cyber actors, their capabilities, and their techniques.
  • Working side by side with internal network defenders to provide intel-driven insights into existing and emerging threats.
  • Championing intelligence for broadening awareness and use of CTI services and education of best practices.
  • Processing and analyzing bodies of reporting and large data sets to identify trending threat activity across the network and global threat landscape.
  • Influencing enhancements to enterprise resiliency and operational controls.
  • Delivering timely, relevant, and actionable intelligence through reports, briefings, and threat assessments to stakeholders across the bank to improve our ability to detect and defend against threats to our environment.
  • Participating in incident response preparedness exercises (e.g. table tops & cyber ranges) as well as response to actual incidents, as needed.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years working in intelligence supporting large organization(s) required, cyber intelligence preferred
  • BS in a relevant field, whether computer science, information technology, political science, international relations, or similar
  • Completion of an intelligence community or military analytic training program preferred
  • Security certifications a plus: CISSP, CISM, GCTI
  • Previous experience producing strategic analysis for intelligence consumers, including senior leadership and/or operational teams, preferred
  • Demonstrated substantive expertise in an area of strategic intelligence interest preferred
  • Past success developing intelligence capabilities under a fusion operating model, including analytic tool suites and new product offerings, a plus
  • Software development and/or scripting experience a plus: Python, Powershell, etc.
  • Financial services experience preferred
  • Foreign language proficiency in Russian, Chinese, or other high-priority intelligence language a plus

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $157,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
