The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for THREE (3) Full-Time Crypto Cyber Engineers (GG-0854/0855/1515/1550-13) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (HNC), in the Defensive Cyber Systems Branch (HNCD), at Joint Base (JB) San Antonio - Lackland.
This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled and classified by a candidate meeting the qualifications of occupational series: 0854, 0855, 1515, or 1550.

Salary: $132,751- $181,428 per year based on experience.
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.

Qualifications/Requirements:
In this position, you will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for leading the design, development, and integration of advanced electronic systems critical to national security and defense missions. You will oversee complex engineering projects from inception to deployment, evaluating emerging technologies and ensuring all systems meet rigorous performance and security standards. Additionally, you will provide expert collaborative leadership across multidisciplinary teams, guiding technical decisions within a highly secure environment.
U.S. Citizenship (Required)
This is a designated Drug Testing Position
Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Top Secret" security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Incumbent may be subject to Full Scope Polygraph testing.
Must have a bachelor's degree in related disciplines such as computer or electronics engineering, computer science, or mathematics. A master's degree in a technical related field is highly desired.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required level of Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification within 9 months of assigned duties.
Required Core Competencies:
Professional knowledge of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of agency, Air Force (AF), Department of Defense (DoD) and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).
Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material.
Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, resolve complex issues or problems, and modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems.
Must exhibit a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and the ability to foresee the impact of changing technology.
