Cyber Range Engineers install, configure, and maintain virtual environments used by our US Air Force customers to test new cyber capabilities, train defensive and offensive cyber operators during initial qualification, mission qualification, and execute combined exercises.  This includes the creation of computer networks using Cisco, Vyso, and PFSense Firewalls as well as domains and child domains, the configuration of virtual appliances (some bare-metal devices), the installation and configuration of operating systems on virtual machines, Exchange email servers, client virtual machines running Windows 10 and Windows 11, and traffic generation. Responsibilities also include building and configuring various Linux versions, installing data analysis tools, providing data collection, and assisting with network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. Cyber Range Engineers may also supervise computer user support specialists and network support specialists, and administer network security measures. Responsibilities * Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to include Git and AI usage. * Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. * Design, build, and implement Windows Enterprise systems, various Linux versions, and network systems. * Troubleshoot virtual network performance issues.   * Analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions. * Build ranges to assist individual training, team training, and initial and mission qualification training. * Monitor and respond to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems. * Perform system-level design and configuration of products, including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications. * Perform a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment. * Provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products. * Provide assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations. * Provide input to policy-level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints. * Utilize software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance. * Troubleshoot network systems when necessary and make improvements to the network. Basic Qualifications: * TS/SCI Clearance * IAT Level II certification * BA/BS Degree; Preferred in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering Management, and 3 years of experience. Preferred Qualifications: * Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience: Terraform, Ansible, Git, Packer. * Building and configuration of networks using Cisco and VyOS routers and firewalls, plus experience with PFSense firewalls. * Knowledge of the latest versions and legacy versions of all operating systems. * AI (mostly using AI for troubleshooting and code help) * Linux and Windows command-line and administration. * Knowledge of enterprise systems that may include MECM, ACAS, Tanium, and/or Splunk. * Experience in defensive and offensive cyber operations. * Mission Set / Unit Experience: 960th CW, 690/691 COS, 83rd/561st NOS, 26NOS, 33COS. * Knowledge of CMF/CMT/CST/CPT/MDT teamwork roles and tools. * Coding experience, Terraform, and Ansible preferred. * Scripting experience, PowerShell, and bash (Linux). * Strong understanding of virtualization of operating systems and appliances, especially using VMWare. * Cloud experience/cloud tools (MDE). * Experience building virtual ranges using VMWare, XEN, PCTE, etc. * Ability to work with a variety of virtual machine image formats. * Knowledge of network offensive and defense tools. * Experience in ISC/SCADA.
