Our Conference and Events team is looking for a planner to join our ranks and share in our passion for creating signature events. Key Responsibilities 

  • Leading end-to-end planning and execution of conferences and events, from concept through onsite delivery and post-event evaluation
  • Designing and delivering creative, high-impact experiences that align with business objectives and elevate the Commonwealth brand
  • Owning program timelines, budgets, and logistics, ensuring all elements are executed within established financial and scheduling parameters
  • Developing and managing comprehensive conference logistics, including co-coordinating travel manifests, hotel accommodations, agenda development, and attendee experience strategy
  • Researching, recommending, and securing venues, decor, restaurants, activities, and entertainment, and aligning selections with program goals and brand standards
  • Leading vendor sourcing, negotiation, and management, including audiovisual, transportation, DMC partners, venue partners, etc.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for advisors and key stakeholders, delivering a high-touch, service-oriented experience and building lasting relationships
  • Driving alignment with internal departments to ensure cohesive messaging and timely delivery of all program materials
  • Overseeing event technology strategy and execution of registration and mobile app platforms along with business meeting AV production, while identifying opportunities for process improvements and enhanced attendee engagement
  • Evaluating program success and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, incorporating feedback and data into future planning
  • Supporting, guiding, and mentoring junior team members

  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience managing complex events, budgets, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead event execution with ownership and accountability
  • Creative, strategic thinker capable of translating business goals into impactful event experiences
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Solutions-oriented and able to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Proficient in event technology platforms such as Cvent
  • Positive, collaborative team player with a strong customer focus
  • Ability to travel up to 25%-30%

Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • 4+ years of experience planning and executing conferences and events with moderate guidance
  • Working knowledge of budget tracking and vendor coordination, including exposure to contract review and cost management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and event platforms (Cvent, Salesforce)
  • Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously and coordinate effectively across internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, team-oriented approach
  • CMP certification and financial services experience a plus
