Job description

Our client, a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, is seeking a Customs Analyst to support import/export compliance and trade operations. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to U.S. Customs regulations, managing documentation, and supporting cross-functional teams with duty optimization and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of customs regulations, HTS classification, and experience in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and import/export requirements
  • Perform and maintain accurate HTS classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations
  • Review and validate shipping documentation (invoices, packing lists, transport documents)
  • Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely declarations
  • Manage import/export documentation, including USMCA certificates and origin documentation
  • Prepare and track filings within CBP systems (ACE portal)
  • Support duty optimization strategies, including tariff programs and trade agreements
  • Conduct post-entry corrections and support compliance audits
  • Partner with supply chain, purchasing, and logistics teams on customs-related activities
  • Provide reporting and analysis to support business decisions and compliance initiatives
  • Support continuous improvement and ensure adherence to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in customs compliance, import/export, or related role
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and trade compliance
  • Experience with CBP systems (ACE portal) and ABI filing preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Customs Broker License preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
