**This role is hybrid and requires 2 days a week on-site in our Shelton, CT office. Remote candidates will not be considered**

Summary

Ensures complete compliance with all regulatory customs procedures including; import/exports resulting in minimal inspections, cargo delays and penalties.  Speeds the flow of shipments from manufacturing to distribution whilst limiting delays, eliminating fines or penalties, remaining cost effective and reducing duties by taking advantage of trade agreements and other government programs. 

Responsibilities

  • Processes documents for all inbound shipments

  • Classifies new items, styles and parts

  • Proves customs brokers with accurate data in a timely manner in an effort to expedite the customs clearance process

  • Ensure customs entries are accurate, making corrections where required

  • Maintain customs log and retain documents in accordance with customs regulations

  • Manages CTPAT audits for all international and domestic locations

  • Duty drawback and reconciliations

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or equivalent work experience

  • Licensed Customs Broker

  • Experience working with US Customs or government agencies, freight forwarders, transportation providers and 3PLs

  • Working knowledge of Customs Tarrif rules and regulations as well as other government agencies such as Fish and Wildlife, FCC and USDA

  • Excellent research skills

  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite with solid working knowledge of Excel

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Ability to work cross functionally and across all levels

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
