Purpose of the Job:
The position is responsible for assisting with shipments crossing international borders. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the export shipments adheres to customs regulations, including preparing logistics documents associated with exporting of goods. Daily communication with internal and external contacts including project managers, project assistant, distribution services, small parcel couriers, and freight forwarders to support the on-time arrival of international shipments.
Job Functions and Performance Standards:
  • Responsible for processing/reviewing international documents for export of critical shipments of clinical materials to a list of identified countries, ensuring compliance with customs rules and regulations.
  • Maintain Marketplace Admin HOLD queue
  • Cut releases in Solomon
  • Review and correct open shippers report
  • Split orders after initial processing (due to weight or client cut release)
  • Capable of counseling clients and internal staff on matters of global logistics, custom clearance and export regulations.
  • Daily communication with project managers, project assistants, distribution department, couriers and freight forwarders regarding compliance and shipment issues.
  • Support of clients Importer of Record (IOR) files in the Imperial Marketplace by client account number, protocol, and country.
  • Use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Solomon, Imperial Marketplace, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, various Small Parcel Couriers Software in daily activities.
  • Providing Pre-Approval Notification for informal & formal clearance exports.
  • Tracking and managing of complex exports to ensure door to door service.
  • Work with Imperial and client's third party international specialized clinical trial couriers for formal entry imports into countries. Commodities of medical ancillary supplies, electronics, and medical devices (Class I, II).
  • Learn and follow global logistics and compliance of Schedule B / HTS Codes and INCOTERMS 2020.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Amber Road logistics software and utilize this tool for process improvements and internal staff training.
  • Support Imperial CRS Intl. U.K. offices and warehouses with logistical support and assistance as needed.
