Clay Ingels Company is a leading distributor of building materials, millwork, brick, stone, and specialty products. We are committed to providing exceptional customer service while delivering quality products to contractors, builders, and homeowners throughout the region.

We are seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to oversee our retail showroom, brick and stone operations, and retail delivery team responsible for delivering doors and millwork products to customers.

Position Summary

The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of retail operations, including customer service, sales support, inventory management, warehouse coordination, and supervision of retail delivery drivers. This individual will lead multiple departments and employees while ensuring efficient operations, exceptional customer satisfaction, and a safe work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the retail showroom, brick and stone division, and retail delivery department.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop multiple levels of employees, including retail associates, warehouse personnel, and delivery drivers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of doors, millwork, and building materials to customers.
  • Coordinate scheduling of deliveries and staffing to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work closely with purchasing and warehouse teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and DOT regulations for delivery personnel.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct employee coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Work collaboratively with sales, purchasing, and operations teams to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe retail and warehouse environment.
  • Assist with budgeting, operational planning, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in retail operations, building materials, lumber, millwork, or a related industry.
  • Multi-level employee management experience is required.
  • Experience in millwork, doors, windows, and building supplies is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of brick, stone, and other building products is highly desirable.
  • Experience coordinating delivery operations and logistics is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with door and window installation is a significant plus.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and residential building products.
  • Experience managing retail showroom operations.
