Job description

Job Title: Customer Service Support
Client: Food Manufacturing Company
Duration: 4 months, with possible extension
Location: Wichita, KS 67202
Shift: 1st Shift

Position Summary
The Customer Service Support Lv1 role is responsible for gathering information from Business Unit (BU) customers to prepare and submit all export documentation related to ocean carriage. This position ensures compliance with carrier processes and regulatory requirements (U.S. Customs, U.S. Bureau of Census), while coordinating with multiple stakeholders to support smooth import/export operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Export Documentation (55%): Create, compile, and verify accuracy of bill of lading instructions; review sales reports, order forms, SAP data, EEI/ISF filings, and coordinate with brokers; ensure compliance with Letters of Credit.
  • Import Coordination (15%): Oversee import regulatory compliance, engage brokers, coordinate deliveries, and manage communication with overseas clients and regulatory bodies (FDA, global tax & customs).
  • Customer Service & Problem Resolution (15%): Manage Remedy Force and SAP data, resolve issues, and provide effective internal/external customer support.
  • Stakeholder Communication (10%): Share shipment details with BU load facilities, end customers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Other Duties (5%): Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum 1 year office environment experience.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good understanding of U.S. and world geography.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and adapt in a changing global work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree OR High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years' experience in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain.
  • Experience in forwarding and/or customs clearance.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, SAP, AS400, and GT Nexus.
  • Familiarity with insurance and claims handling.
  • Strong analytical skills.
