Position Summary
Coaching to Complete is an award-winning, embedded coaching model where a Success Coach is partnered with a faculty member to better support learners in Sinclair's classrooms of all types.
Under the direction of the Supervisor for Coaching to Complete, and in collaboration with the Manager of the Tutoring and Learning Center, this person will provide course-based coaching for face-to-face, virtual, blended, and online students. Their primary focus is on retention and completion by providing culturally-responsive communication plans, classroom interventions, and an overall learning experience which facilitates on-time progress and completion in assigned courses. Duties included, but are not limited to, troubleshooting in-course, and personal issues with current students in a specified population, working with the Research Analytics and Reporting Department and Tutoring and Learning Center leadership to create impact reports in learning eLearn/Brightspace technology and assisting instructional designers and students with Learning Management Systems needs, and helping the department refine and create new tools for student support and feedback.
The hourly pay rate for this position is $17.98 at a maximum of 28 hours per week.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Work with supervisor for the Coaching to Complete Initiative and other staff to facilitate culturally-responsive communication plans, classroom interventions, and an overall learning experience which facilitates on-time progress and completion in eLearn-facilitated courses
    • Document engagement with students
  • Communicate closely with assigned faculty to avoid redundant outreach, synchronize a plan for the semester, and identify special areas of need in the course
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor and faculty about student progress, and respond to any areas of concern raised by faculty
  • Become familiar with organization of the course, due dates, assignment expectations, and how grades are calculated
  • Monitor student grades after each assignment and send reminders of upcoming due dates
  • Monitor term-by-term success outcomes for the target student population(s) and execute revised communications, tools, resources, and interventions as needed to maintain success rates
  • Become familiar with Sinclair's Academic Calendar (i.e. withdraw, registration, last day for refund, etc.) and have up-to-date and working knowledge of campus events and resources available to students
  • Collaborate with Senior Success Coaches to prioritize and facilitate delivery and outcomes for student surveys, focus groups, and other student-facing feedback mechanisms to improve the online student experience
  • Develop a pool of potential students that may be called upon to share their success stories for marketing and feedback needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Minimum of an associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year in education or similar field required
  • Direct experience working with students required
  • Experience with one or more Learning Management Systems preferred
  • Demonstration of resourcefulness in problem solving required
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
    • Ability to learn new applications required
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills and good etiquette with regard to telephone, written, and face to face communication is required
  • Ability to exercise good judgement with confidential information and electronic record keeping and file management required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with frequent interruptions, providing customer service and managing multiple concurrent assignments as required
  • Demonstration of strong organization and time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and produce accurate work on time and under pressure required
  • Experience with Data Analytics tools and/or student outcomes reporting is preferred
