Job description

Description
The Service Supervisor oversees daily shop operations, including scheduling repairs, assigning jobs, and monitoring progress to ensure timely, high-quality service. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers regarding repair updates, and expected completion timelines. The Service Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining accurate service records and ensuring all documentation is presented professionally while supporting a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule maintenance and repair work, providing customers with accurate completion time estimates.
  • Assign work to technicians and monitor progress to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Maximize the use of available direct labor hours to improve productivity.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding service work.
  • Enter labor time on repair orders and daily reconciliation of clock time versus repair order time.
  • Assist with facilitation of work being coordinated with outside vendors and dealerships.
  • Maintain parts inventory and process monthly reconciliation.
  • Support department workflow to maintain consistent service quality and volume.
  • Prepare estimates and communicate customer billback work as needed.
  • Monitor repair time versus standards and assist with coaching and developing technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of truck or auto technician experience and/or combination of prior Service Supervisor/Service Advisor experience preferred.
  • Ability to set clear directions, establish goals, and ensure all company standards and objectives are met.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and plan for deadlines and potential contingencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conveying information clearly, directly, and accurately.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to continually improving quality of work.
  • Proven ability to handle a variety of issues professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure or challenging situations.
