Position Summary

As the Quality Manager, you will lead the site's Quality function and serve as a key member of the leadership team. You will be responsible for ensuring products, processes, and systems consistently meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company expectations.

This is a highly visible leadership role that requires a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, close partnership with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Safety, and Operations, and a relentless focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be proactive, data-driven, and solution-oriented—someone who not only identifies problems but drives sustainable corrective actions to closure while developing a culture of quality ownership throughout the organization.

ResponsibilitiesA typical day may include:
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Quality Engineers, Inspectors, Technicians, and other quality personnel
  • Build a high-performing Quality organization focused on accountability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement
  • Establish performance expectations, development plans, and succession strategies for team members
  • Serve as a coach and resource to supervisors, managers, and employees across the organization
  • Promote a culture where quality ownership extends beyond the Quality Department and becomes embedded throughout the operation
  • Lead and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, company standards, industry regulations, and quality system requirements
  • Lead internal and external audits and drive timely closure of findings
  • Conduct structured root cause investigations utilizing methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, A3, Fishbone Analysis, and FMEA
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions through implementation, validation, and sustainability reviews
  • Analyze quality trends and performance data to identify systemic issues and improvement opportunities
  • Serve as the primary site contact for customer quality concerns and complaint resolution
  • Partner with suppliers to improve incoming material quality and supplier performance
  • Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and development activities as needed
  • Support customer visits, audits, and quality reviews
  • Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to improve process capability and product quality
  • Support new product introductions, process validations, and engineering change activities
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Establish and monitor key quality performance indicators including defect rates, scrap, rework, warranty claims, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
  • Drive a culture focused on prevention rather than detection through proactive quality planning and risk mitigation

QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Industrial Technology, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, auditing practices, and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional problem-solving initiatives
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence others and drive accountability across functional boundaries
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems
Preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar certification
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, and supplier quality systems
  • Experience in a highly engineered manufacturing environment
