Cloud Engineering Engineer 2

Location: 384 - Fairlane North 2 (FN2)
Location Address: 6100 Mercury Drive, DEARBORN, MI, 48126

W2 Only 4days onsite and 1day remote

Position Description:

Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, building and deploying cloud-based infrastructure and managed services to achieve scalability, flexibility and cost efficiencies for private and public cloud systems that support the business. They are focused on created opinionated cloud environments and systems like Storage as a service, Infrastructure as a service etc. that form building blocks used by other enterprise and product teams. Key Responsibilities 1. Designing and deploying various opinionated cloud environments and platforms aligned with enterprise architecture and security requirements while meeting the business-critical needs of internal customers. 2. Collaborate with enterprise architect, security teams, solution architects, product teams, etc. to design, build, and deploy cloud infrastructure solutions to meet the company’s needs for scalability, availability, performance and security. 3. Monitor system usage to predict future needs, ensuring that the organization scales its IT resources appropriately. 4. Develop automation scripts and IaC templates for configuring and provisioning complex cloud resources including identity services, virtual private cloud, gateways, SSL, Kubernetes clusters, NoSQL data stores, etc. 5. Integrate enterprise security and disaster recovery policies in cloud infrastructure configurations, ensuring data protection and data retention practices comply with industry regulations6. Design, implement and optimize cloud-based storage solutions ensuring data availability, security and cost efficiency 7. Assist in the execution of technology strategy and implementation of engineering roadmaps, including optimizing cloud expenditure, maximizing resource usage and ensuring high availability across required geographic regions. 8. Evaluate new and emerging cloud technologies for incorporation into existing systems, assist in modernization efforts to prioritize and execute migrations of on-prem services to cloud systems. Design highly available, resilient, and cost-optimized application integration solutions on GCP. Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform. Configure IAM, Secret Manger, Cloud DNS, Cloud Load Balancer,  HA/DR environment Experience with Cloud SQL & Non-SQL databases, Backup/recovery, and high availability architectures Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC. Experience with SRE practices in Google Cloud Platform Programming experience (Java, Python, or Go).
