Job Description
This is a hybrid role - Candidate must reside in the Chicagoland area with the ability to work from the office up to 3 days per week. While we have multiple offices, our Elgin, IL location is strongly preferred for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for logistics and trade operations supporting Silvus Technologies.
- Responsible for logistics operations, freight, and carrier management as well as supporting the distribution channels.
- Monitor and ensure delivery of all purchase orders, sales orders, including all documentation, system updates, and internal and external communication
- Make and record determination of Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications and Export Control Classification Numbers updating related databases and data elements in ERP systems (HTS, COO, and ECCN among others).
- Provide support to Vendor's inquiry
- Coordinate the brokerage and forwarders interface
- Record keeping
- Supporting global compliance initiatives
- Attention to details for shipping documents.
- Complete freight and logistics costing analysis, reporting and RFP/Bid processes to understand and manage freight costs.
- Manages security compliance data elements (PIP, CT-PAT, Denied Party Screening, etc.)
- Collaborate with business partners and Trade Manager to understand the impact of export controls and compliance
- Manage requirements to support freight forwarders and collect shipments.
- Provide subject matter expertise to teams exploring new international opportunities and projects
- Work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure freight inbound from suppliers is mode and spend optimized
- Consults with Customer Order Management to support the customer's logistics requirements.
- Manage and motivate a team of Global Logistics Coordinators to ensure cost effective on-time customer delivery.
- Coordinate and manage all domestic and international freight carriers, inbound and outbound while minimizing freight costs as well as increasing service.
- Complete freight and logistics costing analysis, reporting and RFP/Bid processes to understand and manage freight costs.
- Review and approve shipping invoices.
- Own, train, maintenance, and manage local compliance
- Manager freight tables, weights, dimension and other shipping related ERP settings to ensure accurate shipping procedures.
- Responsible for internal communications and presentations related to key performance metrics, program updates and on-going program information
- Select, hire, and evaluate employee performance to determine training and develop requirements to enhance performance, increase skills and improve work product.

- Knowledge and experience with ERP systems.
Education:
- Degree or College Diploma within International Business or related field is preferred.
- Preferred Certification: CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation, an equivalent credential, or active progress toward achieving one.
- Business Degree and ISM or CPSM or CCLP or APICS (CLTD) designation is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in import, export and global logistics. Familiar with Customs Clearance and Trade compliance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a logistics management.
Some travel may be required <10%.
Target Base Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00

Basic Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, trade compliance or supply chain.
