Job description

This is a Hybrid role. The candidate needs to be located in the Lincoln/Omaha area

About the Role

Our clients do not think of us as a vendor. They think of us as the team that keeps their technology working so they can run their business. The Account Manager is the person who makes that true day after day.

This is a relationship role with real technical substance. You will own a book of client accounts, learn how each business actually makes money, and translate that understanding into technology decisions that hold up. You will sit between the client and our service engineers, making sure expectations are clear on both sides and that nothing quietly falls through.

If you like being the person a client calls first and are willing to learn enough about their industry to give advice worth taking, this role will be a good fit.

What You Will Do

Own the client relationship

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for your assigned accounts, and build working relationships with the decision makers inside each organization through site visits, calls, and regular check-ins
  • Ask for feedback consistently, and route what you hear back to the departments that can act on it
  • Acknowledge client requests within one business day, then follow through until the issue is actually resolved

Run the account rhythm

  • Lead monthly touchpoints, quarterly business reviews, and annual planning meetings
  • Review service activity weekly to understand how each client is using their account, where they are stretched, and what they may need next
  • Meet weekly with the service engineers assigned to your accounts so client expectations and delivery stay aligned

Guide technology decisions

  • Learn the business drivers and industry context behind each client so your recommendations connect to their goals, not just their ticket queue
  • Build an annual technology budget for each client across the contract term, covering the service stack and planned projects
  • Provide quotes, product information, and procurement support for equipment and software

Keep the back end clean

  • Maintain accurate CRM records for every assigned account, including current contracts, renewal alerts, and agreement updates following quarterly user audits
  • Work proactively through contract and licensing renewal queues before deadlines become fire drills

What You Bring

Required

  • Proven experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, or a comparable role in the IT industry
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence stakeholders at every level, including executive and C-suite
  • Hands-on experience with CRM software and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • A track record of delivering client-focused solutions rather than generic ones
  • The ability to carry multiple projects at once without losing the details
  • Strong listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Comfort working independently and steadiness in occasional high-stakes situations

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, or a related field
  • Familiarity with managed service provider environments
  • Relevant vendor or technology certifications, or a willingness to earn them

Growth and Development

You will be responsible for knowing the products and solutions we support, and we invest in getting you there. That includes certifications, bootcamp training, webinars, and vendor conferences. Continued learning is part of the job, not something you fit in around the edges.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office or home office setting and involves frequent sitting and computer work, with regular travel to client sites for meetings and reviews. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.

What You’ll Get:

  • Flexible work schedule
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Health, Vision, Dental, and Supplemental Insurance Plans
  • HSA (including monthly employer contributions)
  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account
  • 401k profit-sharing plan
  • Employee Assistance Program Services
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Team celebrations
