Our Integrity Die Sets location in Byron Center, MI is looking for a CNC Machinist for our 2nd shift (M-Th 430pm-4:30am plus a $3.00 shift differential)
CNC Machinist
Position Summary
The CNC Machinist is responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of CNC and manual machining equipment to produce precision
components that meet customer specifications. This role works in a job shop environment performing low-volume, high-mix work on a variety of materials and parts, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate a wide variety of CNC and manual machines, including mills, lathes, drill presses, and related equipment
  • Program CNC machines at the control or via CAM software
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD amp;T specifications to produce parts within required tolerances
  • Establish work offsets, tooling setups, and machine zero points for each job
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure conformance
  • Detect equipment or programming issues and troubleshoot or escalate as needed
  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance and time records
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes
  • Work with a variety of materials, including low carbon and alloy steels, for components such as die sets, plates, and machine parts
  • Assist with new product testing, process improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Cross-train on multiple machines and processes to support operational flexibility
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals
  • Follow all safety standards, work procedures, and company policies
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3–7+ years of machining experience (or equivalent demonstrated competency)
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and practices
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
  • Experience safely operating shop equipment and material handling systems (forklifts, cranes, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming
Preferred
  • Associate degree or certification in CNC machining or skilled trades
  • Experience with CAM software (e.g., VISI or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of GD amp;T and tight-tolerance machining
  • Experience in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment
