From one-of-a-kind custom homes to curated custom designs, our team is committed to turning each client's vision into a high-quality forever home.

Progress Street Builders is hiring a Construction ProjectSuperintendent to oversee day-to-day activity on residential custom home jobsites in the Lynchburg area. This is a field-based leadership role for someone who understands construction, can coordinate people and details, and knows how to keep projects moving with professionalism and accountability.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a confident jobsite leader, and someone who can guide crews, subcontractors, and vendors while maintaining Progress Street Builders' standards for quality, schedule, safety, and client experience. This is not a lead carpenter role, but candidates with strong carpentry or field leadership backgrounds who are ready to move into a management-focused position are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spend the majority of time on active jobsites overseeing daily construction activity
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, materials, and project details
  • Help crews understand scope, sequencing, quality expectations, and how their work impacts the overall project
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsites
  • Monitor progress, identify issues, and communicate updates to the project team
  • Support a high-quality client experience through professionalism, preparation, and follow-through
  • Step in with light hands-on support when needed, while remaining primarily focused on supervision and coordination

Qualifications

  • Residential construction experience required; custom home building experience preferred
  • Prior experience as a site supervisor, superintendent, project manager, construction manager, lead carpenter, or similar field leadership role
