Job description

The City of Rawlins is seeking qualified candidates to fill Seasonal Positions within the following divisions:
  • Golf Course

Summary of duties:
Performs a variety of working level, general maintenance duties as needed to assure the proper function of golf carts, mowers, gators and related golf course and park equipment; performs general facilities maintenance and upkeep. Workers in this classification will be employed on a part-time or seasonal basis.
Environ Upkeep: Performs operations in maintaining golf course, parks, green belts, cemetery and similar facilities including mowing and caring for grass; maintains landscaping and irrigation; performs some tree trimming, paints facilities, installs and maintains fences; assists in fertilizer and chemicals programs; winterizes and cares for the irrigation system and golf course grounds; waters greens; assists in setting up of course and making revisions in the irrigation system.
Event Prepping: Prepares parks for special events such as Music in the Park, reunions and other events;
Equipment Maintenance: Performs routine upkeep and maintenance on parks and recreation motorized equipment, including carts, mowers, gators, etc.; notifies mechanic of difficult or problematic issues; provides mechanic assistance as needed.
Supplies & Inventory: Monitor status of various golf course supplies, i.e., hole signs, benches, tee markers, trash barrels, rake handles, etc.; purchase supplies and parts needed to perform maintenance; maintains service records and ensures proper filing and recordkeeping; documents and tracks specific maintenance activities related to individual pieces of equipment.
Operational Testing: Performs regular and seasonal maintenance and upkeep on golf carts; checks and charges batteries; inspects various electrical components and contacts; assures proper delivery of power from cart battery; cleans and repairs other cart components; may paint carts as needed; drives carts to prevent flats adjusts tire pressure; starts and tests equipment to ensure operability.
General Cleaning & Upkeep: Performs cleaning and maintenance of various work areas, breakroom, restrooms, etc.; picks up trash around the course; promote safety in the workplace; performs seasonal work plowing snow and clearing pathways around course structures; assists city service workers moving snow as needed.
Golf Course Laborer: Helping golf course maintenance crew. Weekends required.
All jobs are 40 hour weeks. Applicants must be at least 16-years of age (unless otherwise specified), possess a valid driver's license, and successfully clear a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
