Floral Designer / Retail Florist

Prado Flowers — San Francisco, CA

Prado Flowers is seeking a creative, experienced, and customer-focused Floral Designer to join our retail team. This role combines floral design, luxury customer service, and day-to-day shop operations. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for color and composition, enjoys working directly with customers, and can perform calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced floral environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create fresh floral arrangements, bouquets, and custom designs that reflect Prado Flowers’ signature style and quality standards.
  • Assist customers in selecting flowers for gifts, homes, celebrations, events, and other special occasions.
  • Manage in-store, telephone, and online orders accurately and professionally.
  • Prepare, condition, organize, and care for flowers to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Monitor floral and shop inventory and communicate supply needs.
  • Package arrangements carefully for customer pickup and delivery.
  • Process payments and support daily retail operations.
  • Maintain an organized, welcoming, and visually appealing shop environment.
  • Help create seasonal displays and merchandising.
  • Support holiday production, workshops, events, and other special projects.
  • Provide warm, attentive, and personalized service to every customer.

Qualifications

  • Three to Five years of Floral Design experience.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Experience in luxury retail, boutique hospitality, or another design-focused environment is highly valued.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Dependable, punctual, professional, and comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Able to manage multiple orders and priorities during busy periods.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting floral supplies, buckets, and arrangements.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and peak floral periods as needed.
