Familiarity with precision agriculture technology, GPS-guided equipment, and application record-keeping systems is vital. Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills help you effectively manage schedules and interact with clients and team members. These skills ensure safe, efficient, and accurate application of products to support customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
A typical day as a Custom Applicator involves loading and operating specialized application equipment to deliver fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides to customer fields according to prescribed rates. You’ll spend significant time outdoors, monitor weather and application conditions, and maintain thorough records of applications for compliance. Additionally, you may work closely with agronomists, sales staff, and clients to ensure proper application and address any field-specific needs. While peak seasons can require extended hours, the role offers variety and the satisfaction of directly supporting agricultural production.

Summary:
The Racking Operator must possess basic math, reading and writing skills and be committed to observe and follow all quality and safety procedures. He/She must have good time management and decision making skills. The ability to follow procedures correctly and inspect quality of work is of vital importance. Working well in teams from diverse backgrounds as both a leader and an individual contributor is required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
Follows detailed direction given by Racking Lead along with any other assigned duties daily.
Examines the condition of parts before beginning the instruction given via the coating traveler and reports any discrepancies to the Racking Operator Lead.
Verifies quantity of parts before and after each process.
Follows instructions on coating traveler for each part number, quantity, and any special conditions that may apply.
Moves large parts to staging area for immediate loading by e-coat crew or takes to surface prep.
Transfers and inspects small parts after coating.
Counts, packs and moves small parts to shipping area for "final" inspection by Quality team.
Packs large parts directly from e-coat line and sends to shipping area for "final" inspection by Quality Manager and team.
Delivers Zpex parts from E-Coat to Clean Room area for final cure and coating stage when needed.
Cleans and organizes racking area daily.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment which contains dust and material particles in the air.
Temperature in this facility can be either Cold/Hot according to certain times of the year.
The noise level in certain areas of this facility is medium loud and may require hearing protection.
