ICMS is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to lead and oversee custodial staff in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and general upkeep of building interiors and exteriors, including grounds maintenance and related services. This position requires strong leadership skills, hands-on supervision, and the ability to manage day-to-day custodial operations effectively.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate custodial employees, ensuring high-quality service and efficiency
  • Organize and manage work shifts, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and effective work schedules
  • Train, evaluate, and oversee custodial personnel on proper cleaning techniques, safety standards, and use of custodial equipment
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, applying appropriate safety standards for all custodial operations
  • Supervise the proper use and maintenance of custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning compounds, including manually operated tools and electrically powered machines
  • Implement and oversee a Quality Control Program, ensuring inspections, scheduling, contract compliance, corrective actions, and process improvements
  • Respond to tenant complaints and coordinate corrective actions to improve service quality
  • Manage general grounds maintenance responsibilities, including scheduling and supervising groundskeeping duties
  • Prepare and maintain reports, including action plans, inspection reports, and work schedules
  • Oversee compliance with custodial procedures for storage, usage, and disposal of cleaning solvents and chemicals
  • Assist in special custodial projects and emergency response cleanups as required
  • Ensure the security of buildings by supervising lock/unlock procedures and reporting safety hazards
  • Supervise project crews for specialized cleaning assignments
  • Assist in managing the custodial budget, tracking expenses, and recommending cost-saving measures
  • Develop effective staffing schedules and work plans to ensure efficient custodial operations
  • Maintain inventory records of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment
  • Manage and distribute work orders while confirming data within the client CMMS
  • Apply industry-standard custodial techniques, materials, and quality standards.
  • Document and report facility conditions, custodial tasks, and compliance with safety policies.
  • Ensure compliance with proper chemical handling, application, and disposal methods
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of recent experience in managing custodial and related services in buildings of similar size and complexity.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Documented experience as a Custodial Supervisor in a commercial or institutional environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively lead custodial teams
  • Knowledge of proper custodial procedures for using and maintaining cleaning tools, machines, and chemical solutions
  • Familiarity with quality control programs related to custodial operations, including inspections and corrective actions
  • Experience and familiarity with CMMS platforms, specifically Maximo
  • Ability to work independently and follow specific, detailed instructions
  • Capable of written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to work on foot for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day)
  • Ability to climb stairs and lift 20+ pounds, when needed
  • Willingness to respond to emergencies after hours
  • Experience working in a government facility.
  • Must meet federal government security clearance standards, requiring at least a Public Trust background investigation.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to climb ladders, use power tools, and perform heavy physical labor as needed
  • Exposure to wet, humid conditions, chemicals, fumes, and dust
  • Work may include outdoor exposure to inclement weather

Security Clearance:

It is mandatory that all Contractor personnel working onsite at federal facilities meet federal government security clearance standards. Minimum investigation at a Public Trust level required.
