| Work Environment | Educational institutions, corporate training departments, e-learning companies | Educational institutions, corporate training, e-learning development teams |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Used in organizations managing multiple curriculum projects, overseeing timelines and resources | Focuses on designing and developing instructional materials and learning experiences |

An Instructional Designer, on the other hand, primarily focuses on creating effective learning materials and designing engaging educational experiences. Both roles often collaborate but serve distinct functions within educational and training environments.
