Salary: $35.00
Summary of Function: TEMPORARY PART-TIME. This position supports the start-up, development, and provisional approval preparation of the Arizona Western College Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the individual supporting in this role will focus primarily on developing LPN curriculum and course materials; preparing syllabi, calendars, curriculum maps, learning outcomes, and evaluation tools; coordinating clinical site readiness and clinical placement planning; and assisting with the setup of the LPN skills lab, supplies, equipment, storage, and learning spaces. This position is intended to support the program development and implementation phase and ensure that the program aligns with Arizona Western College policies, Arizona State Board of Nursing requirements, program outcomes, practical nursing scope of practice, and student learning needs.
Typical Duties:
- Serves Students. Develops LPN curriculum and course implementation materials in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, nursing faculty, curriculum representatives, and appropriate college stakeholders. Assists with curriculum maps, course outlines, syllabi, course calendars, weekly content sequencing, student learning outcomes, competency alignment, evaluation methods, skills checklists, clinical evaluation tools, and documents needed for institutional and regulatory review.
- Coordinates clinical site development and clinical readiness for the LPN Program. Assists with identifying and communicating with potential clinical partners, preparing clinical objectives, planning clinical schedules, coordinating facility orientation needs, supporting affiliation/onboarding processes as assigned, and organizing clinical placement details to support safe student learning experiences.
- Coordinates LPN skills lab start-up needs, including lab space planning, supplies, equipment, task trainers, mannequins, storage, inventory lists, purchasing recommendations, setup of learning stations, lab safety procedures, and alignment of lab resources with course competencies, skills checkoffs, simulation activities, and clinical readiness expectations.
- Supports regulatory, institutional, and program approval preparation, faculty onboarding, and transition planning for full program implementation by organizing documentation; developing orientation resources for faculty, clinical instructors, lab assistants, and preceptors; preparing workflow guides and handoff materials; supporting lab and clinical operating procedures; and providing recommendations to support ongoing program operations, staffing, curriculum maintenance, lab and clinical needs, and student success after launch.
- Supports student success during the program launch phase by developing, organizing, and implementing student-facing materials, orientation resources, clinical readiness expectations, skills preparation tools, remediation processes, and communication resources.
- Supports and participates in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Current, active, and unrestricted Arizona Registered Nurse license or multistate privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in Arizona.
- At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff with diverse and multicultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in nursing
- Experience coordinating or teaching in a practical nursing/licensed practical nursing
- Experience developing nursing curriculum, course calendars, skills checklists, simulation activities, clinical evaluation tools, or regulatory approval documents.
- Experience with AZBN requirements, ACEN or other nursing accreditation standards, and NCLEX-PN preparation
- Experience with lab coordination, high-fidelity simulation, virtual reality, electronic health record platforms, and competency-based skill evaluation.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Current, active, and unrestricted Arizona Driver's License or equivalent.

- Skill in developing syllabi, course calendars, curriculum maps, student-facing materials, orientation resources, checklists, procedures, evaluation tools, and approval documentation.
- Skill in organizing programs, faculty, student, clinical, lab, and compliance documentation to support provisional approval and full program implementation.
- Ability to complete all departmental and/or institutional mandatory training or development
- Ability to organize, prioritize, follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion, with close attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment
