Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct regular site visits to company facilities to assess HSE performance, provide guidance, and support continuous improvement. Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation. Deliver HSE training and educational sessions to employees and contractors. Perform risk assessments and recommend effective risk mitigation strategies. Participate in audits, inspections, and internal/external compliance reviews. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HSE activities, incidents, and corrective actions. Collaborate with site managers and cross-functional teams to implement safety initiatives and promote a positive HSE culture. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for HSE-related topics, providing practical advice and solutions. Track and report on HSE performance metrics and communicate results to leadership.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred) OR Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HSE experience, ideally in a manufacturing or multi-site environment
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to real-world operational challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable delivering safety presentations and training sessions to various audiences
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to company facilities as needed
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are highly desirable
