Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Jr. Quality Systems Specialist (JQSS) is responsible for assisting with the implementation and/or usage of assigned internal or external software applications. The JQSS is also responsible for the collection and distribution of data from these systems.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform and document internal audits of existing quality systems and technologies to ensure adherence to regulatory policies and internal guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within quality systems and contribute to developing strategies to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Complete quality-related transactions, maintain accurate records of inspections and tests, and compile and report on quality data and system performance.
  • Assist in managing key quality system elements, inclusive of Cumulus "Smart Torque" torque management software, Go Canvas, LN, iMonnit Welding Consumable monitoring software, and Intellect.
  • Providing exported data out of each application in a manner that can be used to evaluate business conditions.
  • Making sure software programs continue to work properly after maintenance and testing.
  • Develop business cases for new software applications that best suit the current and future goals of the quality department and departments connected to those processes.
  • Perform training sessions with applicable personnel on usage of software applications.
  • Communicating the status of usage and engagement with these programs within the department.
  • Develop procedures, work instructions and training materials as applicable.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Quality or the Quality designee.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in business software applications with a focus on operational functions may be considered.
  • Basic training on quality systems equal or equivalent to ISO 9001:2018.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in quality assurance, understanding quality management systems, and familiarity with testing tools and tracking systems.
  • Competent in computer usage with train-the-trainer level ability to utilize numerous systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes and sequences of operation.

  • Intermediate knowledge of SaaS systems.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly at different TAS facilities depending on the current department needs.
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to work with others who may be included in utilizing the software program to ensure it works properly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position is at least 60% to 70% at a desk working with a computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
