About the Role
The Tactical Coordinator is responsible for the success of our services. Their primary responsibilities are to ensure all events are executed flawlessly by managing supplier team preparation, communication, and expectations. This position requires a candidate with prior supervisory and event planning experience, discretion required to serve VIP guests, and high-end restaurant/ bar and catering experience, including wine and spirits knowledge. The c andidate will obtain sommelier training through the job if they are not already certified. Attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize needs in the moment are critical. This is a great opportunity to lead and shape the future of Five Star's presence in Cummins Customer Visits catering. The Tactical Coordinator elevates and supports Cummins' business by providing world-class products and services to Cummins' guests and leadership. The Tactical Coordinator partners with the Back of House and Cummins Experience Team to proactively plan events and may advise on exceptions to service policy. This person monitors, manages, and executes services in progress, while being the liaison to all parties involved. The Tactical Coordinator must use their exceptional eye for detail to deliver elite-level hospitality services seamlessly. This is a people management position that will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills to successfully guide in-the-moment coaching and escalation for tactical supplier employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, coach, and provide direction to the Front of House staff.

  • Produce and coordinate the following: catering packing lists, service schematics, product inventory, special instructions, equipment & vendor coordination, event staffing, vehicle planning & post event notes.

  • Conduct on-site walkthroughs and pre-function meetings to ensure alignment on service expectations.

  • Perform all front of house tasks including but not limited to bartending, wine service, dining room management, serving, busing, room set-up and tear-down, and meeting room services, as needed.

  • Assign and monitor daily work activities while maintaining adequate staffing levels and workflow efficiency.

  • Monitor food quality, presentation, inventory levels, and dining area cleanliness to support an exceptional guest experience.

  • Assist with scheduling, inventory management, receiving deliveries, and opening/closing procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • This position will require 4+ years of experience in the food, beverage, and hospitality service industry.

  • Must have or obtain local sanitation certification(s), Alcohol Server's Permit, and have a high school diploma or a GED (General Education Degree).

  • Supervisory and event planning experience, understanding of the nuances and discretion required to serve VIP guests, and high-end restaurant/ bar experience, including wine and spirits knowledge.

  • One year of management experience.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the day.

  • Must be able to consent to a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
