Are you an experienced mechanic with excellent physical stamina and troubleshooting abilities? We are currently seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic in Orleans, IN to keep our vital equipment in peak condition.

As our Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and longevity of the vehicles that power our critical field operations. You'll be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and implementing reliable repairs that keep our fleet running smoothly day after day.

 

The starting pay is $30.00-$40.00 per hour based on experience. Candidates with enough industry experience may be able to negotiate a higher starting rate.

What You'll Do

  • Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs according to Company procedures and schedules
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems with your technical expertise
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on equipment and vehicles
  • Fuel vehicles and maintain proper fluid levels
  • Operate pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and gas-powered tools with precision
  • Drive trucks and other vehicles as required by specific job functions
  • Unload materials and parts as needed
  • Operate vehicles and equipment for testing, inspecting, and transporting
  • Maintain clean and orderly equipment and work areas
  • Report irregularities and recurring equipment issues to management
  • Assist in training and mentoring other team members
  • Adhere to the Company's safety rules and operating regulations
  • Complete necessary reports and documentation
  • Enter and maintain data in vehicle maintenance management systems

 

What We Need

  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required
  • Valid Class A or B CDL license is required
  • At least 1 year of experience as a fleet or automotive mechanic required
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to lift up to one hundred pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Experience with vehicle diagnostic systems and processes
  • Adaptability to work near moving mechanical parts, with occasional field assignments that may involve exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to commute to our Orleans, IN office each day and on time
  • Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the state of Indiana
