Job description

Summary of Position:

Seeking an entry-level diesel mechanic to repair and preventative maintenance on company’s vehicles and equipment.

Essential Duties:

  • Entry-level of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
  • Experience with working on Cummins Diesel and small diesel engine with turbo.
  • Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools)
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • The ability to solve problems.
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Submit to a background screening (to include criminal checks, past employment, and education) and pass a drug screening.

Other Important Duties:

Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to walk, sit, stand, bend and stoop. May be required to lift, carry or push/pull supplies, materials, equipment and/or items weighing up to 50 pounds. Work is primarily conducted indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
