Job Description
Job Summary:
Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Downey, CA).
Will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

Responsibilities
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted
  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Qualifications
5 yrs "heavy line" engine experience, including overhauls
Knowledge of Cummins Diesel/Nat Gas engines and associated repair practices
Knowledge of Cummins warranty policies and procedures
Computer literate (Insite, QSOL, MS Office, Teams)
Ability to communicate details of troubleshooting steps and repair results
8:30 am - 5 pm
DOT
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
