What is culture media?

Culture media are nutrient-rich solutions or gels used to support the growth, survival, and reproduction of microorganisms, cells, or small plants in laboratory settings. They provide essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and sometimes specific growth factors required for cells to thrive. Culture media are used in various applications, including microbiology, biotechnology, and medical research, to isolate, grow, and study organisms under controlled conditions.

What are common challenges faced when preparing culture media in a laboratory setting?
