Job description

Position Summary Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Rotation: Monday - FridayThe Cultivation Technician is responsible for performing daily plant care, sanitation, and cultivation activities that support healthy crop production and efficient facility operations. Working under the direction of the Cultivation Lead and Cultivation Manager, this position assists with all aspects of plant maintenance, room sanitation, and cultivation support while following company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of working in a fast-paced cultivation environment while maintaining a high level of cleanliness, consistency, and teamwork.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plant Care & Cultivation • Assist with all phases of plant care, including: o Pruning o Defoliation o Low Stress Training (LST) and canopy management o Transplanting • Perform plant work according to established cultivation schedules and company SOPs. • Follow direction from Cultivation Leads and Managers to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently. • Maintain consistent plant quality through careful handling and attention to detail. Sanitation & Facility Maintenance • Maintain cleanliness and organization of cultivation rooms, workspaces, and equipment. • Clean and sterilize cultivation tools and equipment before and after use. • Assist with post-harvest room sanitation, including: o Vacuuming o Sweeping o Mopping o Scrubbing o Atomizing/disinfecting cultivation rooms while operating a Genie lift after receiving required training • Support company sanitation and biosecurity protocols to maintain a clean cultivation environment. Plant Waste Management • Assist with grinding, weighing, logging, and tracking plant waste in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. • Ensure plant waste is handled safely and documented accurately. Monitoring & Communication • Observe plants throughout daily work and promptly report concerns involving: o Plant health o Pest or disease activity o Integrated Pest Management (IPM) issues o Irrigation concerns o Damaged or malfunctioning equipment • Communicate operational concerns and observations to the Cultivation Lead or Cultivation Manager. • Report safety hazards or facility issues immediately. Equipment Operation • Safely operate Genie lifts after completing required company training and authorization. • Properly use cultivation tools and equipment while following all safety procedures. • Maintain equipment cleanliness and notify leadership of maintenance or repair needs.Qualifications • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Good communication and organizational skills. • Willingness to learn cultivation techniques and company SOPs. • Previous cultivation, agricultural, greenhouse, horticultural, or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. • Ability to stand and work for extended periods (6.5–8 hours per shift). • Ability to work with arms and shoulders at chest height or above for prolonged periods. • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday. • Ability to safely operate Genie lifts after completing required training. • Ability to work in indoor cultivation environments with temperatures of approximately 80°F and humidity levels around 70%. • Comfortable working in dark grow rooms under green lighting for extended periods.Work Environment The Cultivation Technician works in a commercial indoor cultivation facility where adherence to sanitation, safety, and regulatory requirements is essential. The position requires working in warm, humid environments while performing repetitive plant care tasks and operating cultivation equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
