Job description


The Culinary Administrative Assistant with NMS provides essential administrative support to a culinary team, ensuring smooth operations and efficient management of tasks with LKSD. This role involves a combination of clerical duties, organizational skills, a high degree of customer service with customers, employees, vendors and community. The Culinary Administrative Assistant will report to the General Manager.
*This is a work from home "remote" position*
Must reside in the state of AK
Responsibilities
  • Point of contact between customers, vendors, and assigned department staff and managers to fulfill orders, place orders, answer customer inquiries and distribute relevant information
  • Manage calendars and schedule appointments for the culinary team.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails, providing timely responses.
  • Prepare and maintain various documents, such as reports, memos, and invoices.
  • Assist with budgeting and expense tracking.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the culinary team.
  • Maintain accurate records of food and equipment inventory.
  • Place orders with suppliers as needed.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify potential shortages.
  • Assist with planning and organizing culinary events, including catering and special functions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Strong communication skills, in both written and verbal forms.
  • Strong team player and interpersonal skills
  • This position is responsible for some supervision of staff.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • NSLP knowledge provided during training period
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Some related experience with billing and accounting.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must possess excellent cash handling skills and organizational skills
  • The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc.
  • Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
