As an Algorithms Senior Software Engineer, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities – from implementing system-level architecture updates to optimizing low-level code to maximize performance efficiency. This position is for a Software Engineer who has professional experience in the development and implementation of algorithm software for both large-scale HPC environments and highly optimized and performant real-time applications.

What You Will Do

  • Work alongside scientists (physicists, mathematicians, signal processing experts, and more) to understand algorithm goals and limitations.

  • Optimize software for performance, including parallel processing and leveraging GPUs and other processing accelerators.

  • Utilize expertise in mathematics and physics to achieve optimal performance.

  • Evolve algorithms originating in Python and MATLAB into optimized C, C++, and CUDA code.

  • Model and test new algorithms in high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

  • Scale processing implementations to run extensive tests and simulations using hundreds to thousands of processing cores.

  • Architect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated real-time software within heterogenous systems.

  • Work within a cross-discipline team to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and guaranteed, measurable quality.

  • Contribute to proposals as well as preliminary and critical design reviews.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other STEM related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C, C++ or closely related software languages.

  • Development experience on Linux-based systems.

  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Established background in mathematics and signal processing concepts.

  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.

  • Experience with product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.

  • Hands-on experience with Git for version control and Gitlab/Jira for repository and issue management.

  • Experience working with massively parallel code streams.

  • Experience with optimized CUDA programming for Nvidia accelerators.

  • Prior work in HPC environments.

  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, and other analysis tools.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
