Job Summary:

The EHS Specialist will use established procedures and work under general supervision of the Operations Manager to implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. This role is involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and implements environmental, health and safety initiatives. Familiar with regulatory requirements, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the environmental health and safety field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

EHS Specialist Essential Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations; maintain and update EH&S procedures, programs, and required environmental permits.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety audits, incident investigations, ergonomic evaluations, stormwater inspections, and emergency supply checks; advise management on safety improvements and incidentprevention strategies.
  • Plan and deliver EH&S training, including newhire safety orientation, hazardous materials communication, and industrial hygiene assessments; maintain SDS and related documentation.
  • Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, labeling, inspection logs, transport coordination, disposal activities, and regulatory reporting; identify improvement opportunities to reduce waste.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts; maintain effective quality and compliance through routine site checks and participation in the Emergency Response Team.
  • Support crossfunctional EH&S tasks and perform additional responsibilities assigned by the EH&S Manager or management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Level II:2-5 years of relevant environmental, health and safety work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required. Preferably in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineer/Health, or Occupational Safety and Health.
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local regulations
  • A basic understanding of industrial chemicals and their properties.
  • Ability to use Windows based suite of software programs including MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to investigate potentially hazardous situations
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct stand up presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external contacts.
  • Preferredcertifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, Emergency Response, Powered Industrial Trucks,Fall Protection, DOT, HAZWOPER, ASP, CPE, CEPS CIH, CHMM.
  • Eligibility Requirement:This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions can be indoor and outdoor in a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, safety shoes, face shields, hearing protection, ESD jackets, heel/wrist straps, respirators and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, wet weather, confined spaces, dust or fumes, Chemical spills and or fire.
  • Monday-Friday (first shift).
