Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Wooflands Pet Care Facility at Nemacolin is searching for an organized, caring, and outgoing individual to fulfill the responsibilities of the Receptionist position. Interested candidates must have the ability to perform all front desk functions, including record keeping, reservations for pet stays and grooming appointments, as well as checking pets in and out. The individual in this role must be able to deliver quality customer service to our guests by having great interpersonal skills and professional abilities. This includes having a great skillset in leadership, workplace enthusiasm, determination, willingness to learn, and a genuine interest for pet care operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Welcoming guests and their pets as they enter the facility.
  • Facilitate daily activities, group programs, opening and closing procedures.
  • Administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, etc.
  • Provide guests with Lodging, Daycare, Grooming and Training information.
  • Ensure that pets have required vaccines.
  • Communicate with Vet Clinic for lodging pet appointments.
  • Collect daily stats and complete cash handling / bank operations.
  • Determine guest status and inform service provider of their arrival.
  • Handle all calls promptly and courteously, providing accurate information.
  • Post all charges following accounting procedures.
  • Run closing reports and balance bank at end of shift.
  • Sell retail products and assist in monthly inventory.
  • Assist in reaching budget/sales goals through upgrading or upselling services.
  • Maintain accurate status of each guest in-house.
  • Inform supervisor of any front desk problems or questions.
  • Ensure that guests are billed correctly.
  • Follow through with gift certificate, and special promotion redemption.
  • Collect payment on all services and post to the correct account and service.
  • Audit daily accounting activities.
  • Book all grooming and daycare appointments.
  • Keep the Front Desk consistently organized and neat.
  • Review and keep up to date on all department and resort memos.
  • Keep the Lobby area clean and tidy.
  • Deliver messages as required.
  • The schedule includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other Job duties assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Prior customer service experience required.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Appropriate phone etiquette required.
  • Prior knowledge of pet breeds and experience with pet grooming requirements preferred.
  • Must be a team player, possess excellent customer service skills, good math skills, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate must be able to speak English.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Candidate must have a high energy level.
  • In good physical condition.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long hours.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
