We are looking for a highly skilled Application Support Lead to ensure our trading platforms remain robust, reliable, and optimized. This role will own the stability, performance, and end-end support of our trading application and integration workflows.
This role is highly visible and requires strong experience supporting front, mid and back office trading functions. You will work directly with the trading floor and partner closely with technology teams to ensure the availability and reliability of ETRM/CTRM platforms, market interfaces, scheduling tools, pricing engines, and risk systems.
A Day in the Life
General
โ€ข Serve as the primary application support lead for all trading systems, data and integration workflows.
โ€ข Provide end to end ownership of trading application incidents, from initial triage through resolution and root cause analysis.
โ€ข Support and maintain ETRM/CTRM platforms, pricing services, market data integrations, reporting systems, integration platform and custom trading applications.
โ€ข Monitor application performance and proactively identify issues such as latency, interface failures, integration breaks, or data quality discrepancies to minimize business disruption.
โ€ข Administer and monitor critical integration and workflow tools such as Azure Integration Services, AppDynamics, job schedulers, and API gateways.
โ€ข Collaborate closely with trading organization to identify and resolve system discrepancies.
โ€ข Oversee system upgrades, deployments, and maintenance to ensure their proper function and performance.
โ€ข Partner with IT Business Interface team to understand business requirements and deliver configuration changes/updates.
โ€ข Create and maintain thorough documentation, including operations manuals and user guides.
โ€ข Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system resilience, automation, observability, and user experience.
Area of Expertise, Requirements
โ€ข Strong understanding of trading workflows from front-office deal creation through mid-office risk and back-office settlement.
โ€ข Proficiency with:
o SQL and database troubleshooting
o Data, Integration and middleware technologies (Azure, App Dynamics, Snowflake, PowerBI, API, etc.)
o Log analysis and application observability tools
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot quickly and accurately in high-pressure, time-critical environments.
โ€ข Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work directly and effectively with traders and senior business leaders.
โ€ข Proven experience in a fast-paced trading environment with incident management, root cause analysis, and change control processes.
โ€ข Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, data governance, and SOX controls in trading environments.
You Bring This Value
Education
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field or 3+ years of relevant trading application support experience for a trading organization.
โ€ข ITIL, Cloud certification (Azure/AWS), or other relevant technical credentials are a plus.
Work Experience
โ€ข 3+ years of experience providing technical support for trading platforms within commodities, energy, or financial markets.
โ€ข Minimum 3 years of experience supporting:
o ETRM/CTRM platforms (e.g., Entrade, Endur, Allegro, or similar systems)
o Market data platforms (ICE, CME Direct, Trayport, etc.)
o Trading eco system interfaces, pricing engines, and custom trading applications
โ€ข Proficiency with SQL for data investigation and issue analysis
โ€ข Hands on experience supporting front, middle, and back office users, including traders, schedulers, risk, and settlements
โ€ข Strong background in incident management, root cause analysis, and working in high availability, high pressure environments
โ€ข Experience troubleshooting integrations, APIs, market data feeds, and batch/scheduled jobs
โ€ข Exposure to cloud environments (Azure/AWS)
โ€ข Experience participating in UAT, release management, and change control processes
โ€ข Familiarity with SOX, audit controls, and application access/entitlement workflow
